This year Olmsted's display at the Annual Conference (Western Pennsylvania United Methodist Church) had four new banners as a backdrop.  Olmsted is enjoyed year-round and our new banners highlight the four seasons at the retreat center.  With a background of "Olmsted green" each banner displays an image of a different season here at Olmsted.  The first one, winter, is of the lantern cascade stairway.  During the darker days of winter these lanterns are especially beautiful lighting the snow covered steps.  The next banner shows the many flowering azaleas that bloom around the grounds in the spring.  In Olmsted's lower yards a green meadow greets you with purple veronica in the summer at the beginning of the trail to Wildcat Park.  Autumn is a favorite here at Olmsted.  The colors vary from golds to orange, red and crimson and when the leaves are back-lit by the sun the colors glow.
